Pre-Production: Creative Elements

Before I could start the production, I needed to start the pre-production elements for this project. So I decided to start with the creative elements of my ideas which meant that I had to create a flat plan for both the print advert and magazine cover. Below are some images of my flat plan which gives a visual representation on what I have in mind.

Magazine Cover

The image above shows a flat plan of the magazine cover that I have in mind. The background of the magazine cover will be a collage with the product image in the middle of the page and at the top of the page, there will be a title in big bold letters. Under the image of the product, it will be split into two sections. The left side will include text explaining the details of the product, trying to convince the audience to purchase this product. The right side will include images which will show the quality of the camera.

Print Advert

The print advert will have a portrait image as the background. In the top left corner, the Canon logo will be placed there, so the audience will know what company this print advert is for. From looking at other print adverts that Canon has done, they use a lot of inspirational messages in their print adverts so I decided to go with that idea and include an inspirational message or quote in the middle of the advert. In the bottom left corner, there will be an image of the product with its name as well as the company website so the audience knows where they can purchase the product showing.

Now that I have done the creative elements of this project, I had to start the logistical elements to help keep me organised. It'll keep me organised by reminding me of the equipment I need, who is going to be part of this project, and where I am shooting. Production/Post-Production Diary

 Week 1 (5th - 11th December) Monday 5th December 2022: Today is the day that we started to record the podcast. For this, we used a Canon DSLR camera that has an audio jack for a microphone. We also gained access to the studio to record the podcast. With the podcast being an internal recording, we didn't have to consider what the weather would be like which made it easier for us as we didn't have to worry about the equipment breaking or the actors being too cold. We also don't have to worry about the weather affecting the production process. We also used a tripod to make sure that the whole recording was straight and to make sure the camera was stable throughout the whole recording. To help keep the camera steady and straight, we used a tripod.
