Pre-Production - Creative Elements

Story Board

I created a storyboard to bring my ideas to life and get a visual of how it will look and how it will go. I felt that this would give me and my crew a better understanding of how it will look and how it will flow. It also gives us a sort of checklist of all the shots, takes and scenes we need and it also helps up know how we're going to write the script and keep it in order. The storyboard will help us keep organised as well as keep on top of everything we need to produce our ideas. Not only does this keep us organised and gives us knowledge of the visual idea, this also can also help us find out the types of cuts and edits that we will need. It will give us the knowledge of where the transitions, non-diegetic sounds, jump cuts, montages and all the little details are needed. This helps us keep track of all the mise-en-scene including; body language, costumes, hair and make-up, lighting, location and props. The storyboard also helps us keep track of who we're creating this project for as well as show what our target audience is.

Screenplay/Script

TV Advert

After writing the storyboard, I decided to use that to write the script. I wrote the script because there was going to be a dialogue so we thought a script would be a good idea. This is because it will help the actors with their needed cues and give the camera crew a feel of what will happen in each scene. It will keep everyone organised and everyone will know what we're doing, and where we're at and prevent things going off track or forgetting to record anything important. The script provides a predetermined look at everything that will be said within the production. It will also give the camera crew a better idea of what to shoot to match the message that is trying to make within each scene. When writing a script, you basically write the outline of the whole message or story you're trying to tell as well as what each character will be doing or saying. This also gives the camera crew to be creative and bring their ideas to life when shooting the scene. The script makes it clear that this project is for the Better Health Campaign launched by the NHS as we link it back to the organisation. To be able to make sure we include everything that our client wants, the script helps us keep organised and it shows that we have clearly planned things out to reach the clients target audience

Podcast

For the podcast, instead of writing a script, we decided to write down the points that we want to mention as well as the information around the questions. This will help us make sure we answer all the questions that our audience has as well as making sure that we cover everything and know what we're talking about. Having the points to talk about right in front of us will help us stay focused and we won't go off-topic which will allow us to hit all the important points that we will talk about including the research that we have prepared beforehand so we can make sure that the information we use is accurate. An important thing we need to do is to make sure that we use accurate information that is factual when we talk about the point was need to make, making sure that we don't spread any false information as it can have an negative and damaging impact on our audience. The questions we're answering are about exercise as well as eating habits since they are both linked to one another. This makes it clear that the podcast is for the Better Health Campaign and it also links to one of the three theme in this campaign; Get Active. Having podcast will make it easily accessible for our audience which will help the information that we provide reach to the audience that our client is aiming to reach. being able to plan and research the question in depth will help us achieve the areas that we want to explain to our target audience as they want to know how they live a healthier lifestyle.
