Interpreting the Brief
Brief
Canon has created a campaign theme for a new camera they have just launched. This new campaign will be called 'Journeys'. They chose this theme to emphasise how photography, on its own, is just as creative as any other type of art, design, or media.
They want me to create an advertorial magazine that will promote the new camera. This magazine is going to be free and accessible to all Canon retailers as well as keeping the purpose of attracting an audience that is into photography and showing Canon products through entertaining advertorial content. The product should be:
- a front cover of an advertorial magazine
- a conventional print advert
- an advertorial article for the magazine
The advertorial is targeted at young people from the ages of 15 to 25 year-olds. This is because they aim to encourage young people to gain a brand allegiance to all Canon equipment and services.
The key parts of this brief are the theme, the types of products they want, and the target audience. This is what I need to focus on more when doing this product. It is important to make sure that these are well thought through so the client will be satisfied with the finished product and have everything they asked for. I think this project will allow me to start and use more editing software like Photoshop and gain some new skills. This will also allow me to create a form of media that I haven't gotten to try yet which will help me gain some knowledge and a better understanding of what to do.
